I.O.I

Yall, what even is this group? Like I really cannot grasp what they are.

What I DO know..

I do like their songs.. Even though I tried not to. lol I don't know why I tried, it just happened. I never watched Produce 101, so maybe that's why I don't fully grasp this group.

But like I said, what I DO know...

Obviously they originated from Produce 101. (A show I never had the urge to watch) So I can't give much insight on this aspect of what they are except that they are 11 trainees chosen out of 101 trainees and are now a group.... TEMPORARY group, I might add. (But more on that later).. They all come from different agencies and even groups.. There are some girls who have already been added to groups that have debuted already and even one who has already debuted in a group but took a temporary hiatus from that group to be in Produce 101...... (Also more on that later)

Back to the temporary group comment....They debuted on May 4, 2016 (May the fourth be with them) (Bad joke) and they're scheduled to disband in January of 2017 but their new album would be the last activity they do.. Besides holding their end concerts whenever the companies finally decide to do that....

What I don't get is why they would have a temporary group in the first place.. Now I understand that they're putting them and their different agencies together, and I do like that because alot of companies are very different and like to stay to themselves rather than work with other companies.. BUT... To make this group (which fans happen to LOVE together) and then disband them a few months later seems very cruel to me.. But not just to the fans... To some of the members.. Here's why..

I.O.I is very successful right now. I mean, they're one of the top names currently because of their weird wacky situation and because their songs are actually pretty good compared to almost all new girl groups (Except Blackpink, I like Blackpink) So some girls have to go from an extremely successful group, to ones who are not doing so well...

Example 1..
Jung Chae Yeon - DIA
She was already a member of a group, but temporarily withdrew from DIA to be a part of Produce 101. (Along with another member from DIA) But why? She already debuted.. Why did she need to be on Produce 101? My only guess is that they wanted to sneakily promote DIA since of course I had no idea who DIA is before I.O.I.. And maybe she needed some additional practice so she could come back to her group better than she left it... Only problem is, DIA isn't doing amazingly well in the bigger picture. Partially due to the fact that MBK Entertainment is not a MAJOR company in South Korea. Also due to the fact that I can't stand their songs. lol just kidding. But I am really disliking alot of new girl groups' songs. They all sound the same and I don't typically care for them. So she has to be super successful for a brief period and then simmer down into a melting pot of non-famous for awhile until DIA gets up in popularity..

Example 2..
Yu Yeon Jung - Cosmic Girls
First off, CAN WE STOP ADDING PEOPLE TO COSMIC GIRLS?!?! 13 of them? Wae? Why? I don't care to learn anything about huge groups, really. I may like some songs and know a member or 2... But I don't fully go into depth in huge groups because my brain melts.. Hence why you don't see any blogs about Seventeen. Sorry.. <3 Not saying i don't like them, I just don't take the time to fully learn everyone and everything about everyone and everything surrounding big groups. Super Junior and Girls Generation were enough for me. (However, I might add that I do only like 1 song by Seventeen) (Also, I may add that I only like 1 song by Cosmic Girls) But she's also extremely successful in I.O.I.. So much so, they added her to an already debuted group. But the problem lies at Cosmic Girls not doing too well either. So she has to give her all and wait for the popularity to boost as well.. If it even ever does.

Now, I will say that views-wise, Se-Jeong and Mi Na might not have it quite as rough as the 2 above.

Gugudan is under Jellyfish Entertainment which has VIXX (which we all know is an amazing and amazingly popular group) and Sung Si Kyung (who, you may not know, but all of Korea does. He's absolutely amazing and I love his music). Because their company is successful, they may actually do better than the others. Plus, Gugudan already has more views on 1 video than DIA and Cosmic Girls do.

Now, here's where I'm confused.. Zhou Jieqiong and Na Young are members of Pledis Girlz... Now, I thought Pledis Girlz was a pre-debut group.. so they took a break from one pre-debut group to go to another? Or did Pledis decide to make Pledis Girlz just a normal group? Regardless, they are going back to Pledis Girlz after I.O.I... but if Pledis Girlz isn't an actual group per-say.. Where do they go after that? I hope Zhou Jieqiong makes it big. I like her.

Kim So Hye...

I don't know where she will go from here.. She started her OWN company (S&P Entertainment) and opened up a cafe... And that's all I know.

Choi Yoo Jung and Kim Do Yeon go back to just being trainees under Fantagio. Fantagio is quite a successful company, but there's no talks of a girl group being made including these 2 members, so they will regain just the trainee mark and go from there.

Jeon So Mi..
I'm almost certain regardless of what she does, she will debut in some group quite soon. She's with JYP Entertainment.. And she's gained popularity. And we all know the genius mastermind JYP is.. So I'm sure he'll find something quite good for So Mi... I mean, the girl won 1st on Produce 101... Out of 101 contestants.. She was the 1. She'll be good.

Then we come to the worst scenario.

That would be Kim Chung Ha. Why is she the worst scenario? Because she has SO much potential. I mean SO MUCH! But she's under an almost non-existent company.. M&H Entertainment. So it will be quite awhile, I feel, until Chung Ha sees the light of extreme popularity again.

I, personally, like some I.O.I songs, and don't want them to disband, but unfortunately this group came with an expiration date.

Do you see these cuties? No, look again...DO YOU SEE THEM?

Unlike HAS Shanea and half of the other Kpop fanatics, I did not try to stay off the NCT train (or again...truck). They instantly became my favorite over everything. Except G-Dragon...no one can top him!

In case you have been hiding under a rock, below is 2 of the best songs/videos at this moment. The first is from NCT 127 and the other is NCT U.

"FIRETRUCK"

"THE 7TH SENSE"

Let me break these 2 vids down for a minute. Starting with "Firetruck". Does anyone else think Taeyong looks a little like Kai? Or reminds you of him at least? That was the first thing I thought of when I seen him. He takes over the video and has that "Look at my sexy self" throughout the video and any of the performances that you see of this song. Do not get me wrong...I LOVE it, both from him and Kai. It was just what drew me into the video first. Then who pops on the screen is nothing but NCT's own Super Saiyan Taeil. That boy knows he is cute WOO! Then comes my favorite WinWin who flips straight into my heart! Speaking of WinWin, did you guys see the BEAUTIFUL dance pose he pulled off at 2:46? I could watch him do that over and over again...and I have!! I have found that there is no bad video of this song. All of the performances are ON POINT and some just keep getting better and better.

I posted the performance video of "The 7th Sense" because I think it is the best one of this song. You get to really see all of the dance talent without having to be distracted by the effects of the video. I have 2 questions though...1) What is with Taeyong's hat (And how did they keep it on his head through the whole video?) He looks like an adorable little Gnome. 2) Who let the fetus Haechan dance like that?? Yes I said fetus (HAS Shanea's name for the babies) because he is only 16. 16 PEOPLE!!! He is the age of my oldest son!! I would not let me son dance like that on a video but I will watch Haechan all day. Does that make me a pervert? LOL

I am really looking forward to more comebacks from these guys. What do you guys think? Did you try to stay off the NCT train (truck) or were you anticipating them? Which song is your favorite and why. Let us know!!

THANK YOU FOR READING!

Let's Talk: Olympics (PART 1)

Ahhhh the Olympics. All sports-lovers favorite time. The olympics are pretty big in my house. Both Winter and Summer. Summer being my absolute favorite though. So here's the run-down on some of my favorite moments so far this year.

South Korea vs Fiji (Soccer)

As many of you probably know by now, Soccer is a HUGE thing in South Korea. Americans have American Football and Koreans have soccer.

Because it's such a huge thing... They have some of the best players I've seen in recent years.

Of course we can all agree that Park Ji Sung will still always be on of the best Korean players of all time.

Even though they have many good players on the South Korean team, Fiji gave them a run for their money... The first half, anyways.
Mainly because of Simione Tamanisau (who is a tremendous goalkeeper, even if his team didn't do well.) He was making sure that even if Fiji couldn't land a goal, South Korea wouldn't be able to either. And for the most part that mindset and determination worked...
By half time the game was South Korea - 1 and Fiji - 0.
Ryu Seung Woo managed to get the first and only goal in the first half.
(BONUS: He's cute)

Here's where it got really interesting..
So the second half started and here we are thinking that it was probably going to go the same way the first half went. WRONG.
South Korea ended up scoring 3 goals in less than 2 minutes. Mighty impressive.
, Kwon Chang Hoon was the first and second one to score the goal for the 3-goal phenomenon.

Ryu Seung Woo came in again to score the 3rd goal of the second half.. Making that 3 goals in under 3 minutes. Yall, I've never screamed so much in my life. The excitement was up.
The score was now 4-0.

Son Heung Min came in and scored a goal... Making it 5-0.

Then my man started upping his game.
If yall don't know who my man is, my man is FC Porto's Suk Hyun Jun.

He came in to score the 6th and 8th goal for South Korea. Aside from this man's amazing soccer skills, there's something about him that just sticks out and makes me proud to be a fan.
This is that at every given chance, he takes the time to thank God for everything.
When they were about to put him in the game, he was praying on the side lines before he even joined the game..
During the game, after every goal he always got on his knees to thank God.

Is that not amazing?? I think he's great.

@Suk_HyunJun on Instagram. Follow him. He deserves it. :)

Also Ryu Seung Woo AGAIN scored the 7th goal for South Korea..
and like I said earlier...
Suk Hyun Jun scored the 8th and final goal right before the whistle blew.

대한밈국!! *Inserts rhythmic clapping here*

South Korea vs Russia (Handball)

Well even if I can't tell you much about Handball, I can tell you that I think this is now one of my favorite sports. How can a sport be so cool? It's like the extreme version of soccer. It's like soccer and basketball combined..

This game was very close. The finishing score was 25-30. Russia won.

There was a time in this game where I really thought Korea had it.. They were 7 points up and still looking strong.. But right towards the end, Russia came and STOMPED em.

The whole Korean team was strong as a whole, but Jung Yu Ra and Kim Ona scored 6 points each.

Artistic Gymnastics (Men)

This area really irritates me, yall..

As you can see, I don't have great pictures of these guys.. And the only one I even have good individual pictures of is Park Min Soo..

Here's why this area irritates me. I LOVE gymnastics. When it comes to Handball, Soccer, etc.. I only go for Team Korea. However, with gymnastics and swimming I go for Team USA and Team Korea.

So here's what irritates me. None of the South Korean men's gymnasts get nearly enough publicity or credit as they deserve. This olympics, I really got to sit and watch them as they took on the challenges of artistic gymnastics.. And I have come to the conclusion that even if gymnastics is not a huge thing in Korea, these guys deserve more credit. Because they are really good at what they do.

Kudos to Hak Seon Yang for winning Gold on vault in 2012 London Olympics. You rock, dude.

In case you didn't know.. The team this year consisted of
Sin Donghyun, Lee Sangwook, Yoo Won Chul, Kim Hansol, and Park Min Soo.

They're all really good at what they do.. Especially Kim Han Sol... This guy, yall. He broke my heart. Here's why...

Do yall see his face??? Its absolutely heart breaking. He did really well, but he didn't do as well as he would have liked.. So his face was excruciatingly painful to watch. Even though he nailed it in practice, he got shook up when the finals came around.

But that's okay! Because there's always years to come.

To all olympic athletes or aspiring olympic athletes, 화이팅!

(More olympics stories to come in following days)

Sorry for the absences :(

Hello to all of our HAS lovelies!

First and foremost I want to apologize on the behalf of myself and the rest of the HAS crew as we have not kept up with this blog at all. Life sometimes just gets in the way of everything else.

I am going to start working on some blogs here in the near future and I hope that this time I can keep up with them. My blogs may be random, they may be about old/new dramas, comebacks, news, fashion, sports...you just never know with me but I really want to get some things out there for our faithful readers.

From all of us at HAS, we love you and we thank you for all of your support!!

4MINUTE - Hate

4Minute - Hate MV:

4Minute - Hate Lyrics

I actually am going to be honest here... If I hadn't waited a few days to post this... This blog post would have been completely different.

So basically.. What I want to start with is that at first... I didn't like this song. Sorry.. But apparently I am not the only one. BUT after only hearing it once.. I noted that even though I didn't like it then.. It was one of those songs that was going to grow on me. And I was right...

So basically.. Even at first.. I LOVED the first part of the song... When it starts to where Hyuna ends was good.. But the bass drop. Now even though this song has already grown on me.. I can even admit that it's still weird now. But when I first heard it I had the worst stank face.. Which is quite fitting saying it sounds like electronic farts. The bass drop was either one of those things you hated or one of those things you loved.. There really was no in between. There was an in between area on whether you liked the song or not though... You could have (like me) liked the rest of the song but hated the bass drop.. Or you could have loved the bass drop but hated the rest of the song. But regardless there was alot of comments about it "Not meshing well together".
I do like the song now.. It's not one of my favorite songs.. And it's definitely not even close to being my favorite 4Minute song. But I am actually able to listen to it now and sing along without making a stank face.

The lyrics are really great. You can check those out for yourself in the video I linked above labeled simply as "4Minute - Hate Lyrics".

I do feel like they put alot of emphasis into the dance and the visuals of the members. The dance was well choreographed and suited the song. And their visuals are on point. They're all killing it.. And I really need to know where to get one of those long sleeve "Hate" shirts.. Those are really nice looking. Probably would make me look like the fattest tomato on the vine.. But oh well. YOLO
 right? Pft.

My final thoughts are that they really could have done alot better. I would have preferred if they didn't let their gas loose during the song... It really kinda threw me off for awhile. Maybe they hate their farts. :P I don't know if working with Skrillex was really their best option... That may just be because typically any Kpop song that is worked on with Skrillex I tend to not like.. It's just usually not my style.

I've gathered together some opinions from other people besides just myself.

"I "HATE" when the beat drops and it sounds like they are blowing trumpets with their butts." -Tracy,39

"I don't like the tempo... Other than that, it's okay!" -Michael,11

"I like the beat drop, but I don't like the rest of the song. They just don't match. It's not their best song. They could have done much better, in my opinion." -Jen,25

"Their eyes are super point on; I understood a little bit of the lyrics without looking at them yet, but not enough to understand the full meaning other than they have it out for someone. So far as the graphics and dancing, I think the settings were beautiful and the dancing, as usual, very skilled." -Vince,20
