IF YOU WATCHED SQUID GAME, READ THIS! (read it even if you haven't 🤣)

If you are a living breathing person with access to the internet, then by now you should have watched AT LEAST one of the Korean movies/dramas that is out right now.

Train to Busan? Parasite? Squid Game?

If you are reading this right now and HAVE NOT watched any of these, I demand that you stop right now, go out and find them, watch them all and then come back. We will wait....trust me it's worth it!

Oh hi, welcome back! Did you watch them? Pretty darn good huh? Now let me tell you something GREAT! There are thousands more awesome and amazing Korean dramas out there!! It doesn't stop with these! You can find these dramas on Netflix. Just search "Korean" and they will come up. Zombies, blood and guts not your thing? That's OK! There are action dramas, thriller dramas, funny dramas, sappy dramas and very very sad dramas. Something for everyone!! Also there is this great app out there called 'Viki" that is great for Korean dramas/movies.

There is a whole world of greatly written material out there that you are missing out on! So, go on and grab your popcorn, your sweetie or just your remote and get to watching something GREAT! You can come back and thank me later!!

Afterthoughts: Suspicious Partner/Love in Trouble (Episode 2)

Okay! So, I have found out some information since my last post of episode 1. I did think it was odd that the episodes were only 30 minutes long. This being because normal drama times are about an hour long each. The episodes are suppose to be 60 minutes long. Episode 1 and 2 are basically one episode split up.

I did a little research and found out why it was so odd. And why the episode cut off mid-scene.

"In order to circumvent Korean laws that prevent commercial breaks in the middle of an episode, what would previously have been aired as single 60 minute episodes are now being repackaged as two 30 minute episodes, with two episodes being shown each night with a commercial break between the two."

Okay so after this post about 'Episode 2' I will be doing the afterthoughts 2 episodes at a time since essentially they are the same episode. They're even aired on the same night. Just that they split it up so there could be a commercial break in between each parts.

Wow, that's confusing. And was very off-putting to cut a drama off mid-scene..... But it's okay. Since I got this now, we're good to go.

Onto Episode 2:

Of course the episode has to start out by Na Ji Hae...

That girl... Being a complete pain in the butt. Go figure. It's just who she is.. But I'm not even worried about it. I'm worried about the scene directly after...

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life... He deserved it! The way he acted and treated her!! She should have done more than just kick his face in! Then the music just adds to the drama. Ohhhh I love this scene. She deserves to do it also...

.... If only it was real. It didn't happen. Just what she wanted to do, but decided 'hmm.. maybe i should just yell at the guy' which literally just ended in him getting the upper hand and publicly embarrassing her.  Poor girl, he's slick. Like a slug. Just throw some salt on him, he'll disappear. -_-

I do love how she decides that from the point on that he embarrassed her, she would just be labeled as the crazy girl. Who cares, right? People already bad talk her as it is. Might as well make them scared of you while you're at it. And creepily singing that you'll kill your ex every time you encounter him is a great way to do it.

^This scene... Has mixed emotions. I was laughing, but also cringing. Oh the embarrassment. Oh the hilarity.

But... Ji Chang Wook in glasses = Happiness.

This was a draft from years ago. I'll post it but god i do not remember this drama. In fact i don't even know if i finished it.

KDQ'S 14 Days of Kisses! - Day 7

HALF WAY POINT!

Since this is the halfway point, I figured I would pick a good one so here it goes!

Day 7

Descendants of the Sun

I know I say that I want/need to watch all of these old dramas again but this one is a MUST. Only because it was the first drama I watched after Goblin and I was still suffering from major Post Drama Depression and I really didn't care for the drama at that time.

Make sure to check back as we get closer to Valentine's Day!

Until next time....

KDQ'S 14 Days of Kisses - Day 6

WAH!! It is almost the halfway point!! How are you drama freaks holding up? I am a mess. All the feels from these dramas have me going crazy!

Day 6

Reply 1994

This was a hard contender for first place in the Reply series but since I saw 1997 first, it just became my favorite. I do have to say though, this was my favorite scene from the drama. I just love Trash. He is so amazingly adorable! Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate the song playing. One of my favorites from a drama!

I will leave you with a hint about tomorrow. IT IS NOT REPLY 1988. Strongly disliked that drama.

Until next time....

KDQ'S 14 Days of Kisses - Day 5

Welcome back my drama freaks (term of endearment, don't go hostile on me lol) Are we ready for another day? Time to pucker up!!

Day 5

Reply 1997

My FAVORITE Reply drama!! I love how the kisses go from that frozen stance, to all cutesy and then romantic. I just love this couple together period! Was this one your favorite or did you like one of these other 2? What do you think about this series? I think they need to do more like this!

Until next time....

KDQ'S 14 Days of Kisses! - Day 4

Hello again. Ready or another day of drama kissing? Will today be a hot and steamy kiss or will it be a frozen kiss? Let's find out!

DAY 4

A Gentleman's Dignity

I really want to go back and watch this drama again. It was so great! I finally got HAS Shanea to watch it and she loved it too!

MMMMM so much better! This guy was so freaking sexy to me. I still get the feels just watching this clip. Have you seen this one? What did you think? Were you happy with the ending like I was?

Until next time....

KDQ'S 14 Days of Kisses! - Day 3

Hey Hey to all my Kdrama fanatics!

DAY 3

Panda and Hedgehog

I love this drama and probably because I am coo-coo for cocoa puffs over Donghae! It was so cute and sweet. If you have not watched it, it is another that I highly recommend!

OK, let's pause right here and talk about this. Please tell me I am NOT the only one that gets frustrated with kisses like this. It is either the guy or the girl stands there, eyes popping out of their heads like they were just stabbed in the stomach. No action, no kiss back...just nothing. I mean I am not talking about going all tongue down the throat like our man Lee Min Ho but COME ONE...give us SOMETHING!!

Until next time....

Boys Over Flowers - Episode 2 Review

In our previous episode we seen where Jan Di was grabbed by a few school guys. They try to take off with her, kicking and screaming.

All of a sudden who shows up? Yes, Ji Hoo! Instead of him helping at first, he bends down and asks her about pancakes!!

Finally he makes them let her go. She thanks him but he tells her he did not do it for her but because he gets annoyed at this type of stuff. Why does he let Jun Pyo get away with it?

Later we see Jan Di riding home on her bike. She passes Ji Hoo who is staring at a billboard of a model. When she backs up she sees that he has his face planted on the billboard. She tells him that he should not do that because his hands will get all black and dirty. She pulls out some napkins (or wipes I can't tell) and he thinks she is going to give them to him to clean his hands. Instead she walks right past him and cleans the billboard! Once again we get an awesome smile from him!

Jun Pyo starts a rumor around the school that a girl is pregnant. Everyone is wondering who it is and then he announces that it is Jan Di. This enrages her so she gives in and goes to Jun Pyo to confront him. He thinks she is there to apologize. This time instead of throwing ice cream in his face, she gives him a flying round kick to the face! His friends are all laughing and enjoying the show but once again Jun Pyo has that shocking look on his face! He really can not believe this girl!!

Jun Pyo must have hit his head because now he thinks that Jan Di is doing all of this because she is in love with him. (At this point I am starting to think it is the other way around)

Jun Pyo then has his goons kidnap Jan Di. She does a good job at first hiding from them but they sneak up behind her and put her in a car. She puts up a pretty good fight until they use chloroform on her. When she wakes up, she is being pampered by his staff. They do her hair and makeup and put her in really nice clothing.

She is then taken by the steward to a room and says someone is waiting for her. (By the way, did you see that house? OMG!) She sees a figure by the window and thinks that it is Ji Hoo. When she realizes it is Jun Pyo she starts yelling at him. Jun Pyo tells her that from now on, he will allow her to speak to him when they are alone. She rejects him which sends him into a rage. He orders for all of the maids that served her to be fired. At that same moment, he spots a bee and starts running around like a little girl screaming until they finally shoo the bee out of the window. Instead of firing all of the maids he only fires the one that made the tea since he figures that she is the one that brought it in.

Jan Di leaves the house angry and then realizes she still has on the shoes he bought.  She takes them off and throws them over the fence leaving herself barefooted. But....DA DA DA DA....JI HOO TO THE RESCUE!!! He shows up on his motorbike. They sit and talk for a few minutes (and he smiles A LOT!) and before he leaves he gives her his shoes to wear home. Lucky girl!!

The next day when she goes to return the shoes, she runs into the other 2 members of the F4, Ji Yung and Woo Bin. She gives them the shoes to give to Ji Hoo and goes to leave but they stop her and offer her tea. As they are talking, they tell Jan Di about Ji Hoo and his childhood and the car wreck that killed his parents. They also tell her about his love for the model (from the billboard) Min Seo Hyun.

Later at home during dinner, Jan Di's brother finds gambling tickets in the back pocket of his fathers pants. This causes a fight between her parents. Jan Di goes to her room where she pulls out the handkerchief that Ji Hoo gave her when she was covered in flour and puts it safely away in her desk drawer. I think it is safe to say this is when we realize she is in love with Ji Hoo.

The next day while everyone in the school is outside playing sports, Jan Di gets it in the face with a soccer ball which causes her nose to bleed. While she is cleaning herself up, Jun Pyo comes in and tries to help her. She rejects him again. By the hurt look on Jun Pyo's face I would say that we now know that Jun Pyo has fallen for Jan Di.

*I have to add this picture because it made me laugh. When I paused the show to write a few things down this is what I came back to.

Now we get to the best part of this whole episode. Or maybe that is just my opinion but I am sure there are MANY girls who will agree with me. The shower scene!!!

What a way to tease us fangirls right?

The school has planned a cruise trip for the students. Jan Di can not go due to the amount that it costs for the ticket. It looks like Jun Pyo has bought a ticket for her and is upset when she does not show up. Instead, Jan Di and Ga Eul decide to go on a fishing trip. Ji Hoo does not go either because he is meeting Min SeoHyun.

There is a welcome home party for Min SeoHyun and Jun Pyo invites Jan Di. She once again rejects him but quickly agrees when Ji Hoo invites her.

The 3 fangirls (although I think it is safe to call the mean girls now) trick Jan Di into wearing a Wonder Woman costume to the party. Jan Di tries to leave once she realizes she has been fooled but ends up hiding behind a food table. The mean-girls come over and try to take off Jan Di's coat, exposing her costume. Jan Di ends up knocking over a table and the whole party sees her. Everyone is in shock. Jun Pyo goes to save her but Ji Hoo gets to her first. Jun Pyo looks really upset.

Min SeoHyun dresses Jan Di up for the party and also tells her about Jun Pyos' life.

*Min SeoHyun gives us a great quote. "Good shoes will take you to good places!"

When Jan Di walks back into the party, the faces on both Jun Pyo and Ji Hoo are great!

Jun Pyo even drops his plate of food!!

This episode ends with Min SeoHyun telling Ji Hoo to go dance with Jan Di.

This is the episode that got me. Even though the first episode is good, I was not able to really get into it until after this episode so if you are struggling...just keep with it...it gets better from here!

Saranghaeyo and thanks for reading!

Boys Over Flowers - Episode 1 Review

Boys over Flowers is one of the GREATEST K-Dramas of all time (which is why I am picking it first to review).

BoF debuted on January 5, 2009. Sadly it only lasted 25 episodes and ended on March 31, 2009. If you have already watched this show, I think you will agree with me that it could have gone on FOREVER and still I would never get tired of it. If you have not seen it yet...where have you been?

Storyline

There is this school for rich people called Shinhwa (don't you just love that name?) Only the very lucky get to attend this school. At this school, there is a group of what I would call "The Untouchables". The group is actually called the F4. They pretty much run the school and the girls go NUTS over them. You will see why in a few. A dry cleaner's daughter gets the chance of a lifetime to attend this school. She is not rich and not pretty. When she sees the things that go on in the school and how the F4 treats everyone, she speaks out which causes her to be the target of the whole school. She finds herself attracted to one of the members of the F4 and when the school turns on her, he helps her out whenever he can. The leader of this group really has it out for her but after he sees that she endures whatever he dishes out, he starts to change his ways and falls for her. They go through many obstacles, including his mother keeping them apart and trying to destroy her life. In the end, will love concur all?

Main cast members

Ku Hye Sun as Geum Jan Di
(Dry cleaner's daughter)

I think it is funny how they say she is not very pretty. I think she is beautiful!!

Lee Min Ho as Goo Jun Pyo
(Leader of F4)

Do you see that face? OH MY GOSH!! This man right here is beyond gorgeous!

Kim Hyun Joong as Yoon Ji Hoo
(F4 member and former President's grandson)

Look at that face!! Look at that smile!! Oh my goodness he is adorable! (I will have to do a video blog on his later to show you his sexy side...WOW) And please, no negative comments about him. I still love him no matter what!

Kim Joon as Song Woo Bin
(F4 member's "Don Juan")

He is adorable and wait till you hear him talking in English, it is too cute!!

Kim Bum as So Yi Jung

How cute and sexy is this man? I could go on forever about him but I am going to let you find out for yourselves just how cute and sexy he really is!

There you have it folks! Now go watch the show. Then watch it again. I will be doing reviews of every episode. Hopefully the first episode will be uploaded this weekend.

Saranghaeyo and thanks for reading!

Post Drama Depression - The REAL deal

Hello to all my Korean Drama addicts! Today I am going to talk to you about something that is real. I know that I wrote about this topic back in January, and back then it was just something that came to my head, I thought it was kind of funny, so I decided to make a whole post about it. I am here to tell you it is REAL and it is NOT FUNNY!

POST DRAMA DEPRESSION

I feel that as the Korean Drama Queen I need to let you all know why I haven't done any drama blogs (or any blogs for that matter) in while. GOBLIN. That is why. If you have watched it, you might understand where I am coming from and what I am talking about. This drama hurt me. In ways I can't even explain. In ways I never thought a drama could hurt a person. I swear it killed a part of me inside. So much that I could not even watch another drama. I went and started watching Running Man again and then I couldn't even watch that because I saw Gong Yoo on an episode and I had to turn it off. So from there I went and watched all 5 episodes of The Secret Life of the American Teenager (shocking right? I watched an American drama *GASP*) This is just how bad it was. 2 days ago I decided to try and watch another drama. I am currently watching DOTS. I am on episode 3 but I am really afraid to go any further as I was already warned a few times that I was going to cry. I don't know if I am ready for another crying drama. I am going to push through this though and hopefully I can get back on track with all of my blogs.

Did you have the same problem with Goblin? Is there another drama that you watched that made you quit watching for awhile? Let me know. I know I can not be alone in this!! haha
