Afterthoughts: Suspicious Partner/Love in Trouble (Episode 2)

Okay! So, I have found out some information since my last post of episode 1. I did think it was odd that the episodes were only 30 minutes long. This being because normal drama times are about an hour long each. The episodes are suppose to be 60 minutes long. Episode 1 and 2 are basically one episode split up. 

I did a little research and found out why it was so odd. And why the episode cut off mid-scene. 

"In order to circumvent Korean laws that prevent commercial breaks in the middle of an episode, what would previously have been aired as single 60 minute episodes are now being repackaged as two 30 minute episodes, with two episodes being shown each night with a commercial break between the two."

Okay so after this post about 'Episode 2' I will be doing the afterthoughts 2 episodes at a time since essentially they are the same episode. They're even aired on the same night. Just that they split it up so there could be a commercial break in between each parts. 

Wow, that's confusing. And was very off-putting to cut a drama off mid-scene..... But it's okay. Since I got this now, we're good to go. 

Onto Episode 2:

Of course the episode has to start out by Na Ji Hae...

That girl... Being a complete pain in the butt. Go figure. It's just who she is.. But I'm not even worried about it. I'm worried about the scene directly after... 

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life... He deserved it! The way he acted and treated her!! She should have done more than just kick his face in! Then the music just adds to the drama. Ohhhh I love this scene. She deserves to do it also...


.... If only it was real. It didn't happen. Just what she wanted to do, but decided 'hmm.. maybe i should just yell at the guy' which literally just ended in him getting the upper hand and publicly embarrassing her.  Poor girl, he's slick. Like a slug. Just throw some salt on him, he'll disappear. -_-

I do love how she decides that from the point on that he embarrassed her, she would just be labeled as the crazy girl. Who cares, right? People already bad talk her as it is. Might as well make them scared of you while you're at it. And creepily singing that you'll kill your ex every time you encounter him is a great way to do it. 

^This scene... Has mixed emotions. I was laughing, but also cringing. Oh the embarrassment. Oh the hilarity. 

But... Ji Chang Wook in glasses = Happiness.

This was a draft from years ago. I'll post it but god i do not remember this drama. In fact i don't even know if i finished it. 

Slight Change to Afterthoughts!

I'm slightly changing the Afterthoughts segment. I had originally started 'Suspicious Partner' and had the genius idea "Hmm.. I'm going to start writing episode by episode as I go along..." ..... Big mistake. This being because I can't fully get into the drama or enjoy it because I'm constantly having to stop and take notes. 

This being said, I've decided that I'm going to watch all of this drama first and then go back to it later. 

So the 'Suspicious Partner' afterthoughts is being postponed until a later date after I'm finished with it. Now I will go back and start writing about dramas I have already watched. 

That way we can all benefit from it. 

Afterthoughts: Suspicious Partner/Love in Trouble (Episode 1)

Episode 1 - 장래 희망 (Plans for the Future)

The episode starts out the gate with drama. The writers waste no time in getting started with the storyline. Usually there is some character insight at the beginning of the drama. Not with this one. This one starts out with with butt grabbing perverts on a subway and false accusations. Butt grabbing is always a sure way to get someone hooked into a drama. Am I right? 

The whole scene is utterly hilarious. I mean this guy was straight caressing the booty. But the best part was that she ended up telling the guy who actually violated her to report the innocent guy. 

I also had a nice laugh reading the Viki comments of girls saying things along the lines of "WELL I WOULDN'T MIND BEING GRABBED BY JI CHANG WOOK" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Flash back to real life after the pervert situation was... not handled.... dropped momentarily. Eun Bong Hee was on this side of town for a reason. She got an anonymous text message that her boyfriend was cheating on her.. Man, this scene was the WORST. Like I've never wanted to reach through the laptop screen and punch a character so much in my life. 
Because once the guy WAS caught, he used the worst excuse ever. "I'm still young. If some girl seduces me I have no choice. BUT I still love you". Oh boy. The rage was real. 

BONUS: That part was epic. Yes, girl. You threaten to break that arm. Hehehe I can relate >:) Cheating is the worst.

But I do have to say.. Why does Chansung make such a good bad guy? Like he fits perfectly in the role and it's upsetting. 

And she says she will get revenge by sleeping with the first guy she runs into. What are the odds of running into the guy you just accused of being a pervert and then asking him to sleep with you all in the same day? 

The best thing about this drama so far I think is really that everything just ties together. Such as the pervert being caught and brought to her prosecutor's office. Or that the guy she accused of being a pervert actually ended up helping her regardless of whether she caused unnecessary drama in his life. 

Then the fact that both of the main actor's back stories revolve them being cheated on basically. It's very relate-able. 

I'm also really happy to see adult dramas. I mean the lovey dovey cutesy 'girls don't kiss back' dramas worked for me when I was younger. Like I loved Heartstrings and all of those dramas in that era. But recently the South Korean entertainment industry is really growing and branching out with their story lines. They're including sex in dramas which was completely unheard of a few years ago. Not that a drama needs sexual implements to succeed, but the fact that it's a lot more grown up. Real world type scenarios, you know? 

But one awful thing I have to point out... The end of the episode.. That was the weirdest thing ever. It literally just cut off mid clip it seemed like. Mid sentence even. And credits rolled. It doesn't make sense. It irritated me immensely. It's not even a cliff hanger. It was just a cut off mid-scene.

Try to bear with me as I go through through these dramas. I kind of passed off the drama baton to KDQ, but as I watch dramas I miss writing about them. It's a learning experience getting readjusted to writing about dramas. Thanks for putting up with me! :D

Afterthoughts: Suspicious Partner (Intro)

HAS Shanea here. Starting another 'Afterthoughts' on dramas I watch. However this one is different. This time I'm going to attempt to do it episode by episode.. I have this problem when watching dramas. I get too hooked on them and completely forget to write about them. Then I end up at the end of the series with 0.2 blogs written about it and not enough long/short term memory to remember everything I wanted to say about it the whole time I was watching it. So hopefully this will go well :)

So this 'Afterthoughts' will be on Suspicious Partner (Love in Trouble for all Dramafever watchers)

Initially I was thinking of starting 'My Secret Romance' but alas Ji Chang Wook won me over in the end. Because where can you go wrong with Ji Chang Wook, am I RIGHT?!

Watching the previews for this drama on Dramafever's facebook is really what made me want to watch it. I love how Dramafever shows like the critical romance stuff, but they never fully give away the whole story line. After reading the description on Viki, I realized that this drama is not ANYTHING like it's depicted on the previews and I'm quite excited to start it. 

Who doesn't love a drama with drama, correct?
