14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 8/14

Day 8:

Cunning Single Lady

Seo Kang Joon is such a love stealer isn't he? He was on my list last year also with 'Cheese in the Trap'.

He's always a second lead syndrome no matter what drama he does. There's not a drama with him in it as the second lead that I haven't gotten second lead syndrome for. He's just so lovable.

He plays Kook Seung Hyun in this drama who is lovable in every way <3

His face... His face... <3 Lawd I love this man sooooo sooooo much. I won't go into a lot of details about this drama (mainly because it's been so long that I've forgotten a lot of it) but watch these clips.. You'll get the jist of it. Also watch the drama because it's a really good drama.

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 7/14

Day 7:

Hyde, Jekyll, Me

Here's another curveball. Another Multiple Personality... But this one is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY worse than Kill Me, Heal ME. The Second Lead Syndrome on this drama is to die for. Your heart will get ripped out and shredded to a million pieces.

With Kill Me, Heal Me it's still sad because she likes Se Gi.. But with this drama it's a million times worse. Why? Because she's head over heels in love with Robin. It's not a like... It's an 'In Love' And it is SO SAD.

Do you see this??!?!?!?! DO YOU SEE THIS!!! The sweetness!!!

Robin is SO sweet. And he is so lovable and squishy. And he loves her....  So so much. I just couldn't deal with the feels.

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 6/14

Day 6:

Strong Woman Do Bong Soo

This one is a little painful, but not so much as the other ones. Mostly because Ji Soo's feelings aren't really..... portrayed that much.

He didn't really show his feelings for her except in an older brotherly type way. Not as a romantic partner type of way. More like a "I must protect my little sister at all costs" type. So even though you get the second lead syndrome feels, it isn't as strong as some are. Nevertheless, I still consider him to be a part of this series because he did like her and she liked him... He was just too late.. :(

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 5/14

Day 5:

She Was Pretty - Kim Shin Hyuk

To this day.. Shin Hyuk is still one of my favorite Kdrama characters. Siwon played this role SO WELL! He's goofy, hilarious, lovable, and madly in love with the lead actress.

(This one especially kills my heart. The way he says 'Don't Go'. Heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking.)

Of course Park Seo Joon's character was overkill. Honestly I fall head over heels with all Park Seo Joon characters. But Siwon was KILLING this role! He's so heartbroken about losing her, but he knows their history so he knows he can't necessarily do anything about it... Which is probably the saddest part. I do love this man's role in this drama. So glad he's back from the military so we can see plenty more of Siwon in roles!

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 4/14

Day 4: While You Were Sleeping

This drama is one of the most emotional dramas I've watched lately. I was constantly crying. Lee Jong Suk just makes me cry... And the worst part was because of what happens at the last episode. I literally cried for a whole hour. Muahaha I'm not telling you what happened either. Go watch it.

Han Woo Tak...

This is the most precious baby in the history of dramas ever. Protect at all costs!

To be fully honest, this is one of the most painful 'Second Lead Syndrome's' I've seen in a long while. Jung Hae In is a PHENOMENAL actor.  This is honestly my personal number 1 most painful second lead syndrome. The way he looks at her, talks to her, protects her... All while being really good friends with Jae Chan  trying to keep their relationship... It's just so mind-numbingly heartbreaking.

Of course I will always tell you that Lee Jong Suk's character was overpowered af. Like the dude just always gets the most amazing roles and of course you want them with the girl.. But honestly, this one came really close to me wanting her to leave Jae Chan behind.
He gave up EVERYTHING for Hong Joo. He got stabbed and beaten... He got kicked off of the police force... Everything he could possibly do to make sure she was happy and safe, he did. He even helped Jae Chan and Hong Joo have a happy relationship all while he was hurting so much. And then the picture with him and her's shadow on the ground together as his background killed my heart. He loved her with every fiber of his being.... But again, Jae Chan was overpowered. But the way Woo Tak looked at Hong Joo... And the way he smiled at her... And the way he acted around her... I just... I can't deal. This was one of those rare occurrences that if the second lead WOULD have gotten the girl, I'd be perfectly fine with that. I could honestly have still enjoyed the drama to it's fullest if Woo Tak would have ended up with Hong Joo. And that doesn't normally happen. I usually get frustrated with dramas where the second lead does get the girl.

I really appreciate this drama because honestly dramas these days don't give 'Second Lead Syndrome'. They are too emotional in other ways that having a second lead syndrome is almost completely un-needed. Which I understand. And there's some pretty good dramas these days without having this factor. But then again it's always nice to go back to love triangles. It rips your heart out in the worst of ways.... But it's almost a comforting type of story line because it's what you're use to.. That make sense? Maybe not. Heh.

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 3/14

Day 3 is:

Pinocchio

Now most people do not really consider "Pinocchio" as having a strong second lead syndrome. And I can see where this comes from.

1. Beom Jo is creepy. If you haven't watched the drama and found out how he started liking In Ha... It's quite creepy.
2. Dal Po is unbeatable. Dude their chemistry was off the CHARTS!

While I could not see her with anyone else besides Dal Po, I feel like Beom Jo's efforts and just his overall being doesn't need to be overlooked.

Beom Jo had it hard dude.. Realizing that someone you love is a monster? That's tough.. And even rebelling against said person you love because you know it isn't right? That's very courageous, honorable, and just overall great. And he really did like In Ha alot. But even he knew he couldn't be with her... Dal Po was overpowered af. Js.

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 2/14

Day 2: Reply 1997

This isn't your normal 'Second Lead Syndrome' either. Mostly because it's not shipping a girl with the second lead. It's shipping a second lead with the male lead.
So..
Yes... Joon Hee. The best friend of the main lead. Male on male romance.

This was a painful relationship in this drama. Poor Joon Hee is in love with the Yoon Jae and the feelings just aren't mutual (in that way). Of course he loves him to death, they're best friends but unfortunately for him and all of us watchers, Yoon Jae just doesn't swing that way.  WHY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT 😭😭

I really don't have too much to say about this other than the fact that it just really breaks your heart. He had to watch the guy he loved love not only girls, but one of their good friends his whole life. Poor baby. Poor baby indeed. <3

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 1/14

First day of 2018's Second Lead Syndrome Series. Now I do have to warn you that this year's list is a bit different than last year's. The reason being is because there's a few curveballs this year. You'll see why. Let's jump right in.

Day 1

Kill Me, Heal Me - Shin Se Gi

Here's the curveball. The second lead is still the main lead, just a different personality. Weird, right? But anyone who has seen this drama will know exactly what I'm talking about. The writers have written the drama so amazingly that the different personalities are different people. And the actors play the role so amazingly that you actually just see them as different people.

It's a weird thing to think about, but literally anyone who has watched this drama will understand why this HAD to be on this list.

Se Gi is your typical bad boy. Equipped with a whole ton of sexiness and equal as much guy-liner.  Also with the ear piercing and tattoo. Lord this is every girl's dream bad boy.

Of course with your typical K-Drama bad boy, the bad boy can go 2 ways.. Either they're just awful and treat her like dirt and then warm up to her, or they are soft and squishy with her but awful to everyone else. This one is a bit of a mixture. He's a bad guy and still treats her a bit harshly, but not in an.... awful way? He's very harsh, but he's so sweet to her and loves her so much. He just doesn't know how to show it so well. Why? Well because he's a bad guy. Duh. I won't give away why he's such a bad guy. You'll just have to watch it yourself.

He's just so sweet! In a bad type of way heh

And the bad part is that she really loves him too so the plot line is just so emotional. :(

"Cheese in the Trap"

Have you ever seen Roommates? IN LOVE with Seo Kang Joon. I have so many "husbands" in the Korean entertainment world, but I'm going to add another and say that I am going to marry Seo Kang Joon. Okay? Okay.

14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome: Day 13/14

Welcome back to "14 Days of Second Lead Syndrome". Can you believe it's almost the last edition? I can't......

In case you missed yesterdays:

Today's drama is a newer drama.. And it's a tricky one...

"Jealousy Incarnate"

The reason this is so tricky? She actually dated the second lead..

And they were actually really good together. He was very sweet and despite all the obstacles thrown at him to break up with her. In the end, her heart just couldn't get over her 3 year crush for Hwa Shin..

Plus, Hwa Shin and her had been through things that her and Jung Won could never go through. You'll have to watch it, because I'm not telling!

Annnnnnd... Hwa Shin was way more jealous. His jealousy was off the charts and I swear he was going to spontaneously combust. lol

It's a great drama and I suggest you watch it! Seriously!

Stay tuned for tomorrows edition.. And may I remind you it's the LAST ONE. WHAT? How could it be over already???
